This is Chomp as we found him in the field. He was perfectly happy lying there waiting for us to approach him (and remove his head collar for the photo opportunity).

Chomp

This one was taken with me sitting just under his nose – Fiona had been behind him, but moved away when she got the feeling he wanted to lie back.

Chomp

There is a whole sequence of him stretching before he finally flopped over and closed his eyes.

Chomp (if I close my eyes wil you go away?)

Sadly (for him) we didn’t go away and leave him alone.

These are all taken pretty close up (probably about 1m) with the 16mm wide-angle, so the perspectives are a little distorted. I’d not recommend that you get this close to a horse you don’t know and trust (we have a huge amount of trust in Chomp).

For anyone wondering, he’s 16h3 (and a bit), so he’s not a wee boy.
