Tessa came to the studio for a test shoot to be a model as one of the studio portrait lighting classes I run at the studio. In this case, the test shoot is essentially a form of interview to determine suitability – not only do I need someone who photographs well, but I also need to know that we can work well together.

Having shot what we needed, we deviated from plan and shot some using natural window light. Tessa’s eyes are particularly striking in this shot:
