To describe Leona as keen to do the maternity shoot would be an understatement – she got in touch mid-March (at about 13 weeks into her pregnancy) and kept in touch regularly until we set the August shoot date for 32 weeks. She even managed to get her partner Scott to come along too, so it was great to shoot some lovely couples shots too.

32 weeks is pretty early for a bump shoot, but shooting this early was safe and allowed time for a second shoot if we wanted.

I always find it very rewarding when a client is comfortable shooting nudes (or implied nude). Shooting nude/implied nude is always there as an option, but it is not something I will ever push. Some clients won’t even hesitate; others might like to, but aren’t sure. For a relative stranger to develop the required level of trust and confidence is very gratifying to me.

In this case, I don’t know what Leona had planned, but I don’t think she hesitated – I’m not sure what Scott expected of the shoot though.
