I wasn’t expecting to meet Nico when I went to Galashiels to photograph Leona and Scott’s newborn daughter Ruby.

Apparently he’s been quite protective of Ruby and I got a little bit of the growly treatment when I arrived. He’s a big softy though and it didn’t take him long to understand that I’m a big softy for dogs too.

I shot these for me – he’s got such a great face.
